Polly chats with Allison Edwards about how she has dealt with her (now 11 year old) son Jonathan developing and living with autism. Allison is a prominent and articulate campaigner and mother involved in raising the awareness of and knowledge about autism throughout the UK. Allison talks to Polly about what she has learned about supporting life with autism and how she has not been foiled in gaining access to the most senior politicians in the country. These have included both prime minister Gordon Brown and his predecessor Tony Blair - although as she explains, she has become politically disillusioned by the experience in each case. Polly meets Katharine Doré to discuss the increasing concern and overwhelming demand for solutions for people with autism as they leave full time education. Katharine is an award winning international theatre producer who is also recognised as one of the leading figures in autism in the UK. Katharine was one of the founders of the charity TreeHouse based in North London, now one of the highest profile schools for children with autism. Katharine has also recently launched CareTrade - a new registered charity founded to create employment for people with autism. Katharine's son Toby is now 15 and has autism.

Polly joins high profile British TV presenter and chat show host Trisha Goddard, on the 'City Talk' programme on Liverpool's leading commercial radio station with Dianne Asher, Chief Executive of the long established Wirral Autistic Society to discuss differing views on the causes, impacts and wider effects of autism. The views of the public, reactions to typical symptoms and the overall effect on siblings and parents are discussed. Parts of the resulting interview and discussion were broadcast on UK radio earlier this month.

Sherry also describes her educational work and development protocols and describes the importance of pragmatically coming to terms with AS as a reality of many people's lives.
